I still don't understand why you think that Microsoft should 'solve' the issue. There is no native Blu-ray support in OSX from Apple, either. Furthermore, I don't know about most third-party players notworking in Windows 10., the most popular third-party offering, is compatible, as are some others I've checked. Perhaps the reason I wasn't understanding what was written is that Sony doesn't 'own the license for Blu-ray,' so it wasn't much of a leap for me to think that you were using a Sony laptop.
