  1. A USB device firmware hack called BadUSB was presented at the Black Hat USA 2014 conference, demonstrating how a USB flash drive microcontroller can be reprogrammed to spoof various other device types to take control of a computer, exfiltrate data, or spy on the user.
  2. Phison 2251-03 (2303) Custom Firmware & Existing Firmware Patches. This repository contains the following items: DriveCom- PC C# application to communicate with Phison drives. EmbedPayload- PC C# application to embed Rubber Ducky inject.bin key scripts into custom firmware for execution on the drive.
  3. 45 Responses to “Recover a USB Stick”. My memory is 2303 and short pin 2 and 3 while plugging. Did u use a USB Stick with a Phison 2251-03 nand chip? And if so try looking for another version of Phison MPALL and always use the right burner image and firmware for your USB Drive!

I got a flash drive from National Instruments with LabVIEW software that I don't need (LabVIEW 2017, LabVIEW NXG, maybe somebody else got it too). I want to erase/format it so I can use it for my own purposes. However, it is write protected, and nothing I've tried so far seems to work.

It's a Toshiba 32GB, model PA5080L, with I think a PHISON 2303 (2251-03) IC. It's silver, branded with the National Instruments logo.

Here's what I've tried so far:

right click drive-->format-->OK-->'disk is write protected'

Phison 2251 03 2303 Usb Charger

regedit-->setdevicestorageproperties-->0 (whatever the exact string is)

Phison 2251 03 2303 Usb Cable

cmd-->chkdsk-->erase data

Also tried 2 low-level formatters available for similar Toshiba drives.

If I can get some help for this specific drive model, that would be cool. Thanks!
